Certification will be followed by a disaster scenario at the Indiana Federal Emergency Management Centers Disaster Training Facility, the same place many top level responders train. In addition to the CERT qualification, cadets will have the opportunity to train in the Army Joint Simulator Training facilities where high tech equipment is used to train the modern soldier. This is includes the new Virtual Soldier “halodeck” virtual reality trainer where they actually strap on a backpack and headgear and walk around in a virtual world as part of a squad. This will be a training you don’t want to miss. As a locally arranged training, please send requests directly to the COTC.

Move to Fort Harrison Complete!

Posted by LTJG Sauter on Comments comments ()

BZ to the division for a job well done on the move over the weekend of 02/03AUG. I am very impressed at the hard work and dedication by all to make this happen. Moving 43 years of equipment, files, furniture and more from our offices, classroom and storage out of Hesler in 2.5 hours is a tremendous accomplishment. And to be unload 3 trucks and trailers and be in our new building at Fort Harrison by 1245 is even more unbelievable. While we are sad to be leaving a beautiful and historic building due to its closing we are excited about all the opportunities available at Fort Harrison; the new NOSC, the PX, track, state park and all the amenities. September drill starts a new chapter in the history of Cruiser Indianapolis and we are proud to be a part of that. You have my profound thanks to have made this milestone happen in a smooth manner.
